THE CRUISE SEASON HAS BEGUN IN MYKONOS WITH VISITORS FROM THE USA, AUSTRALIA AND CANADA
Two cruise ships carrying passengers from the USA, Canada and Australia sailed into Mykonos today, inaugurating the new tourist season on the island. These are the ships “Arethusa” of the Grand Circle Cruise Line company and “Silver Muse” of Silversea Cruises.
The Municipal Port Authority of Mykonos, in a statement, welcomed the start of cruise tourism for 2026 which, as stated by the President of Ath. Kousathanas – Megas, “despite the adverse conditions due to the war in the Middle East, proves that Mykonos remains a solid choice in this important tourism sector that contributes to presenting the destination to a selected high-income audience and stimulating the local economy”.
According to the President of the Port Authority, it is expected that during the year the scheduled arrivals of other cruise ships that have postponed their approaches to the island due to the fact that they remain stranded in the Gulf area will be replenished and, therefore, according to current data, there is no expected change in the total number of arrivals until the end of the current tourist season, as initially announced.
