The first plan was completed by a Frenchman in 1686, Tournefort was drawn in 1717 and Th. Hope was in 1790. At the end of the 18th century the city market expanded. In 1822, 22 ships were listed and 60 ships are reported between 1860-1870. In 1901 the expansion in front of the sea and the expansion of the pier by Mich. Bell. During 1992, the government, recognizing the problems faced by the island due to the growing tourist traffic, took radical decisions and prepared a comprehensive development program for the tourist and passenger port, as well as an inland marina. During 1995, the construction phase of the project was started by the Ministry of Environment and co-financed by National Resources and the second Community Support Framework.
\nDuring 1999, the first phase was completed with a budget of approximately \u20ac 17.5 million and the new port was launched. The 2nd stage took place between 2000-2002. During this period, warehouses, toilets, electric lighting and architectural configuration of the island surface in the Schengen area were completed.
\nThis was followed by the 3rd stage from 2006 to 2010 in which works were carried out for the passenger-commercial part of the port, east of the bridge with facilities for the service of passengers and ships and the improvement of the road network to the junction of the Ring Road. The last stage will cost about \u20ac 20.5 million.
\nToday, the construction of the port is in the 4th stage, during which buildings for cruise and commercial terminals are constructed. The two ports of Mykonos together with the important tourist attraction of the island, have become the most popular destinations for speedboats and yachts in the Mediterranean today, and coexist with the fishing boats and the boats that run daily in Delos.<\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n
